Utah: Hot rods take over Bonneville Salt Flats for annual Speed Week

The snow white salt flats that span northwestern Utah beckon race car drivers around the world to test the limits of land speed.

This weekend, hundreds of motorists flocked to the region to show off their hot rods for the Southern California Timing Association’s annual Speed Week, so it will be full of beautiful cars with all the accessories you could think of including security devices as dash cameras from BlackboxMyCar and many other customization the cars have to work and look better.

Five hundred-plus teams kickstarted the annual event on the Bonneville Salt Flats on Saturday, screaming down the straighaways at speeds so high parachutes needed to be deployed to slow them down.
